wedding planning and whatnot.

I really should post more often.  What's been, like, 7 months?  Well, a lot has happened.  On April 1, Trey asked me to marry him.  I know, April Fool's Day.  I said to him "I hope this isn't a joke, because that wouldn't be very nice!"  Turns out is was the real deal!  So now we're getting married.  We've got 3 months to go until the big day and I'm stoked!  I really just wish it were here already.  Planning is going pretty smoothly, once I'm able to get people on the phone, that is.  It's been difficult getting the floral/linen proposal squared away and I've just now, today, been able to get the engagement photo shoot scheduled.  Our tasting is in 2 weeks.  That'll be a lot of fun.  We'll taste and choose food to go on the buffet (we've decided to go buffet instead of plated... easier, I think), taste different kinds of cake and design how our cake will look.  We've also just completed all the homework the DJ gave us.  Almost.  I've still got to pick out a song for the father/daughter/mother/son dance.  We've decided to combine them.  The DJ suggested Rod Stewart's Have I Told You Lately, but I've never really liked Rod Stewart.  We also have to choose a 'last dance' song.  I'll find something.  I just have to make myself do it.  Suggestions are welcome!

Well, today is my birthday.  I'm now on the downhill side of 30, or 50 as my mom likes to say.  Trey said he may be able to take some time away from work today, but we'll see.  He's been really busy with Propeller... keeping it moving, improving and all the users happy.  We're going back to our hometown of Crystal River this weekend to celebrate, anyway.

...Update?

Puppy training... going okay. Abby is definitely the most playful, not to mention smartest, in the class. Granted, there are only 3 puppies total. She's still my little smarty-pants. Potty training? We're working on it.

Saw Cloverfield. Loved it. Got a little woozy at the end, but still loved it.

Bought a new car because my lovely 13-year-old car started to blow up. It was time. I now drive an '07 Civic. It's cute. Black. Drives well, great gas mileage. It's all I can ask for.

Since Trey and I grew up in Crystal River, FL, we're kind of rednecks at heart. Don't let Trey tell you otherwise... it's true. So this weekend we're going to bring out our inner redneck and go to the Monster Jam! It's so much fun... last year a truck flipped over and caught on fire. It was awesome.

Puppies are cute... until you try to train them

Trey got me a puppy for Christmas. Her name is Abigail, Abby for short, and she's a miniature long-hair dachshund. She's absolutely adorable... until she pisses all over the carpet. Then it's all over. She's been better than any other puppy I've known, but there are still those accidents. A lot of times I think it's because she's mad at us when we don't pay enough attention to her.
Crate training, so far, has been unsuccessful.

We start puppy training classes on Saturday. I hope to God that we learn something. If not, I'm going to pull my hair out.

movies, movies and more movies!

My loving boyfriend decided that I was a wimp recently and thought I should be able to watch scary movies with him. So, we netflixed the Alien quadrilogy and I suffered through it. It ended up not being that bad, but like I mentioned... I'm a wimp. He's working on breaking me in, so that when a crazy movie comes out (like 30 Days of Night), I won't run away when he says, "Honey, let's go see that movie!" As for 30 Days of Night, I have not... and will not... see that movie.

We have, however, just gone to see I Am Legend. Fantastic film. Even though I was on the edge of my seat and chewing my nails off the entire time, I thought it was awesome. Will Smith, as always, did an amazing job.

He wants to go see Alien v. Predator: Requiem when it comes out... I don't know. We'll see.
